Mindful Movement Workshops
Led by Mandi Suzuki, Community Health Programs Support
The objective of this program is to promote well-being through encouraging movement, building community and empowering individuals to get active in a safe and uplifting environment. Living as a Native Hawaiian and/or Pacific Islander on the Continent often disrupts the collective community building and access that is more readily accessible in Hawaii. Therefore, many individuals and families who identify as Native Hawaiian often feel isolated, alone or disconnected from their culture, community and practices. This series is not only to promote health and well-being through exercise and movement, it is also intended to create opportunities for individuals and families to connect with one another and cultivate relationships that are wholesome and healing.
Additionally, this series is also intended to connect and partner with local practitioners who practice various types of movement to create and cultivate partnerships. These different practices will be offered so community members have a safe space to explore a new activity in the company of those that have similar lived experiences.
