AloHā Resource & Community Center
9725 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy, Ste 115
Hours of Operations: M/F (10 AM - 3 PM) | T/TH (3 PM - 8 PM)
The ARCC aims to foster a sense of belonging for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities who yearn a space to thrive in their cultural identity and values. It provides a puʻuhonua—a safe space where individuals can find peace and grounding in everything they do.In Hawaiian culture, Puʻuhonua was a place of refuge. A place where all were at peace and found grounding in all that they needed. In Hawaiʻi, those places are abundant and accessible for the community but here, in the diaspora, many have forgotten because there is no access. The ARCC will continue to serve as a Puʻuhonua and our goal is to grow our services and expand our hale!
What Our Center Provides
-
Pacific Islander Library
Sharing the moʻolelo of our PI-heritage! In the center of the ARCC, youʻll find a corner of 1,000+ Pacific Islander books for the community to checkout for free. About 80% of the total amount of books are in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian Language).
-
Food Pantry & Clothing Closet
The place for resources! KALO values that many of our communities do not have access to hygiene items, warm clothing, footwear, and food products to sustain themselves. That is why weʻre here – to take away to worries of access to basic needs.
-
